I completed it this morning to enter into the Pastel 100. It is 11" x 29". Pastel is not my usual medium, but I thought it could be fun. This began as a life sketch and resolved itself in my SC studio. WHAT DO YOU THINK? IS anybody out there? Come on Y'all....talk to me...subscribe, comment, take a minute, share your thoughts...it costs nothing.

A rare work in that it is spontaneous expression in the beginning and at the end, with animated drawing. The Portrait of a Painter draws from the cultural history of the Carolinas and, in the sense that Gertrude knows the subject intimately, she has spread his music, art, and writing across the panel.
